The idea of the contest was first announced in December 2024, during a reception at the British Embassy in Kazakhstan, held in honor of women working in the agricultural sector. The purpose of the event was to highlight the important role of women in the development of the country’s agriculture and agri-food industry.
As noted at the event, according to national statistics, over three million women live in rural areas of Kazakhstan. A significant portion of them are employed in education, trade, healthcare, and agricultural production. Today, one in four farms, companies, or private enterprises in Kazakhstan is led by a woman.
The “Jańa Dala / Green Day” international specialized exhibition-demonstration is a long-standing Field Day event held in Kazakhstan since 2013. It is the largest open-air platform in the country for showcasing cutting-edge agricultural technologies, high-performance machinery, breeding achievements, and innovations in veterinary science, organic farming, and plant protection. The Field Day also includes livestock demonstrations and pedigree animal auctions from across Kazakhstan. The event is held annually in July, alternating between Akmola and Kostanay regions, and is organized by the Kazakhstani company EXPO TIME.
